1. Thanks was given to Asad , Mohammad and
Samer, who represented MSA at the MSL food fest. |
2. Waleed suggested membership in the MSA-national.org which requires an annual
fee of $25.
3. Safeer and Waleed proposed the idea of acquiring a new advisor for the
2005-2006 year.
4. Safeer proposed the idea of joining with Rosemont MSA to create MSA
T-shirts.
5. Asad updated the members on current budget and Safeer updated the members on
funds raised.
6. Safeer stated that the new plan for this year’s Islamic Awareness Week (March
14-17) to February 8th, 2005 is as follows: of Introduction to Islam
by Missionary Haneef on Monday, a lecture on the Communal Aspects of Islam,
Christianity and Judaism by Dr. Inati and a lecture on Democracy in Iraq by Dr.
Erfani on Tuesday, a lecture of a Brief History and Overview of the Holy Qu’ran
by Dr.Omran on Wednesday, and finally, in collaboration with Rosemont College, a
lecture about Feminism in Islam by a proposed Rosemont speaker.
7. I proposed a ribbon fundraiser at the Connelly Center for the Chinar Project
as well as my plans on sponsoring a charity basketball tournament for the same
cause.
8. Samer updated the members on vital details discussed in the meeting with
Omani students last Friday and pointed out their concerns with transportation.
