1. Asad, Mohamad and Samer volunteered to help with
Food Fest on February 11th; they will prepare samosas.
2. Committee agreed the deadline for event planning is
February 8th.
3. Safeer introduced a Service Grant in which MSA must
come up with a proposal for community related service by January 28th
2005 in order to receive funds from Wachovia.
4. The financial statistics of the MSA budget were
updated by Treasurer Asad Safdar
5. Safeer presented the updated agenda for Islamic
Awareness Week (March 14-17) which the first day willl include lecture
related to Intro to Islam, and the last day will be reserved for Rosemont
College’s lecture about Women in Islam, thus leaving two lectures yet to be
decided. Safeer proposed a possible topic for one of the yet-to-be-decided
lectures maybe the role of Jesus and Jews in Islam.
6. Safeer reported that Public Relations Coordinator
Asma Chaudhry will head a fund raising project for the Tsunami disaster and
in addition, Asma’s progress on the newsletter is near completion.
7. Safeer presented information about the Interfaith
Retreat which will take place during February 4-6. (The cost of the retreat
will be $45.)
