Society Info
Gamma Phi is a VSB Honor Society
dedicated to providing free
assistance to our fellow students in the core business courses.
Members are invited to join the organization when they achieve a
specified minimum GPA through their studies at Villanova. To become a
full member in Gamma Phi, the student must participate in group and/or
one-on-one tutoring sessions through the society, and must continue to
tutor at least twice per semester to maintain active member status.
Beginning in the fall of 2007, students will also be required to
complete a one-time Tutor Training Session to ensure the quality and
consistency of help provided to students. Membership in this
prestigious society indicates a high level of both academic
achievement as well as solid interpersonal skills, attributes highly
sought after by potential employers after leaving Villanova’s campus.
Our goal is to provide comprehensive, in-depth, and effective tutoring
at no cost to VSB students. Gamma Phi tutees come from many different
situations – freshman and transfers new to the ways of our school,
hard workers seeking the most from their education at Villanova, or
even upperclassmen finally fulfilling those pesky requirements. All
are welcomed by Gamma Phi tutors and given full attention during
tutoring sessions. Group “walk-in” sessions are held two times a
week according to the schedule outlined in the “Tutor Info” link on
our homepage. Individual one-on-one sessions are set up upon request –
for more information or to request a one-on-one tutor, please contact
a board member (“Member Info” link). Gamma Phi tutors have been
where you are, and survived. Let us show you how we did it, and help
you get where you want to be.
